This all-purpose frozen dessert maker handles most people's healthy or decadent cravings for homemade ice cream, yogurt, and sorbet--with no crank to turn or salt to pour.  I imagine this is ok
but I don't know for sure, because I've never actually used it. It just sits in my freezer, mocking me, saying "when are you going to make ice cream?"

Be prepared to do some prep work if you want any results from this machine. I suggest making your freezer colder and freezing the bowl at least 2 days. Also, make sure whatever you put in it is completely chilled (at least 24 hours). Even then, don't expect great results. Your product will still be very soft and will probably need to harden a bit more in the freezer. You can't be spontaneous with this little guy. We've tried just about everything in this and have been mildly pleased with the results. I don't regret buying it, but if the bowl held onto it's temp for even 10 minutes longer, I'd be a happier camper.

I was a bit hesitant about purchasing a reconditioned unit, but after speaking with my friend I decided to take the plunge. She has the same unit which she had gotten brand new and uses it all the time. This is wonderful for people who follow a low carb way of eating as you can adjust the ingredients for your liking. We use the traditional vanilla recipe in the front of the book, substituting light cream for the milk and splenda for the sugar. We chopped up low carb chocolate bars and sliced up some fresh strawberries, and made some WONDERFUL homemade, vanilla, chocolate chip w/strawberries. Yum...I am getting hungry just thinking about it. HINT: be sure to chop things up small if you are adding extras and remember they get added, 5 minutes before the ice cream is finished.
